Australia’s biggest and most iconic city, Sydney, attracts millions of tourists every year, for pleasure or for business. It’s iconic status and constant flow of tourists not only help Sydney economy thrive, but also allowed for the development of a strong luxury travel sector. And here I don’t mean only the big international hotel names that have sprung in Sydney’s Central Business District. But also a great variety of boutique hotels, luxury stores and Michelin starred restaurants, ready to enchant all those willing to pay the price of being treated like royalty. Here’s my brief guide to luxury travel in Sydney:

Luxury Accommodation

As I said before, most of the world’s big hotel chains are present in Sydney, offering their well-known services and facilities to well-paying customers. Many of these hotels are located in the central areas, and if you’re really lucky you might also get a view of the Sydney Harbor from your room. Some popular five-star Sydney hotels are: Sheraton on the Park, Westin Sydney, Pary Hyatt Sydney and Sydney Harbor Mariott Hotel.

Some local luxury hotels are QT and Shangri-La.  Those looking for peace and relaxation might also try one of the coquette hotels/resorts located in Sydney’s scenic surroundings, like the Wolgan Valley Resort & Spa or Lilianfels Blue Mountains Resort & Spa.

Deluxe Sydney Restaurants

A multicultural city, Sydney offers plenty of choices in terms of food, from classic Australian dishes to innovative combinations between Eastern and Western cuisine. Some much appreciated Sydney restaurants are Catalinas, Azuma and Pier. If you want to combine the sampling of signature dishes with some nice view of the harbor, you can also try Zaaffran, Wildfire or Aria. (You can find a more complete list of luxury Sydney restaurants in this gourmet restaurant list.)

Luxury Activities Sydney

Ready to indulge? After a delicious meal and with a five-star hotel room awaiting you, you’ll have all the time to plan a way to experience the best of Sydney’s attractions. A brilliant way to combine deluxe dining with sightseeing is to book a dinner cruise, which will give you some unforgettable memories of the Sydney skyline at night – alternatively, you can arrange for a yacht to take you sailing at sunset or sunrise.
